The postponement of SXSELondon

This is a particularly heartbreaking blog to have to write - unfortunately, in the last day or so we have had an issue with our sponsor, leaving us in the lurch. While we've had a number of offers of financial help from some fantastic people to help us, we simply can't cover the costs incurred and still make money for the charity, so we have no choice but to pull the plug on this Friday's SXSE event.

It's especially gutting after three solid months of work and the help we've received from so many brilliant people to pull it together at short notice, and we'd like to extend them all our warmest gratitude for being so very brilliant!

Refusing, however, to let the idea die, we're going to reschedule the SXSE festival to Friday, April 4th 2014, along with running a series of smaller events starting January 2014, which will be hosted in a series of different venues around London every month.

Our first will likely be related to digital future and we will be publishing some further details about this in the coming days.

By putting the festival event in the next financial year we hope to secure more funding and reach an even wider audience, at the same time as putting on the smaller TED-talk style events month-on-month throughout 2014.

I hope that we will see you at one of our many planned events in 2014, and apologise again to those of you who bought tickets (you have, of course, been fully refunded). Rest assured that we are not giving up on the idea that digital media can, should and WILL be used to bring together a community to help others!
